Yeah, its worth watching, but pretty graphic, at least for its day. It was pretty controversial back then, but probably no worse by today's standards than the typical rap video. The "mod" costumes can be a little distracting.

Love it. Was reading it right before I went into spin dry, and without knowing this, one of the counselors took to calling me Alex based on the fact I enjoy chaos.

Really really graphic, though in a post-Pulp Fiction/Res. Dogs world... maybe not as effective anymore???

Anyway, it is an incredibly interesting story. If the visuals bother you, consider reading the book.

Bart Simpson dresses like the main dude for Halloween in one of the simpsons' Halloween episodes. That always cracked me up extra.

I tried watching it a few years back and only got about 40 minutes into it. I then opted to read the book, which I managed to finish. I'd go with the book (since I did).

I haven't seen it in a long time but, I liked it quite a bit. It was enjoyable in a sick, demented kind of way. After watching that movie you'll never hear "Singing in the Rain" the same way again.

Most of Stanley Kubrick's movies are worth watching. He had his own unique style of pacing & story telling. 2001:A Space Odyssey, Dr Strangelove, Spartacus were all pretty cool but, nothing he did was a way out as Clockwork Orange.

Hated it. I get no joy watching that movie. It is too annoying and disturbing for me. You'd have to hold my eyelids open and force me to watch it.

I like wierd movies... just not sick ones.

(and Dr. Strangelove is probably in my top 5 favorite movies of all-time. Go figure.)

I enjoyed both the book and the movie, although I preferred the book - This is usually the case for me, though. As a few people have said, the costumes and graphic content can be a little distracting in the movie.

Nope.

Kubrick's The Shining is a better work.

is it worth watching all the way through?

What are you into? You know the basic premise behind the movie.

What I remember from the movie:
Delinquency/Beating Folks Up/Rape/Fall/Phallus Symbols Throughout/Bearded ***gus/Milk Bars/Moog Classical Music/Perceptive Shock Response Therapy/Ultraviolence/...

We need a new topic on books I wish were made into movies.

I didn't end up watching the rest of the movie... def not into the rape scenes and ultra violence... though I do enjoy most books instead of the movies... at least the ones I've read that have been turned into movies.

I think maybe I'll try the book...

Funny, this happens in the movie, don't remember if the book has it.
And a big +1 on the Singing In the Rain reference.

I started to watch it with my mom when I was WAY too young and tender, maybe 18 years old or so...ended up fleeing the room during the "Singing in the Rain" scene, and haven't been able to have another look since. Childhood trauma.

But I did like Pulp Fiction, oh and also The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover, both of which some folks I know find pretty rough.
