I wish you luck as well but this really is not your first attempt right.  I mean if you have run any marathon before this then by default that was your first BQ attempt.  Right?  Maybe I am just a debbie downer here.  Either way best of luck to you on your pursuit of your goal.

        2011 Goals:

        • Sub 19 5K (18:57 5K July 14th 2011)
        • Sub 1:30 1/2 marathon(1:30:06 Emerald 2011)
        • Sub 3:05:00 Marathon (3:11:10 Indy 2010)

I think runnerclay's intent is for folks who are trying to BQ for the first time, not get a BQ on the first try, or on their first marathon.

So when you jumped out of bed this morning, was that an attempt at the world high jump record? When you ate breakfast was that an attempt at winning an oatmeal eating contest?

It's not the heat, it's the stupidity.

When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?

I have "run" three "marythongs" so far.  I have not made my first BQ attempt.

Yes, I do "run in this."  So should you.  The weather is never as bad as it seems from behind your office or car window.

I am always trying to win the beer chugging contest ... always
