Anyone out there finished with their spring planting?
Tonight I start mine. First I guess I need a plan. Each year I let the kids pick out what annuals we plant. One year we did all white, another all red, another we did red and white. One year we did rainbow (that was a little too much if you ask me).
This year I'm not sure what to do.
Does anyone have pictures of their flowerbeds or gardens? |

Thanks Lisa!
I do need to read up on what I plant. As is right now, I have some plants in too much shade and it's obvious. I think it's time that I move them. Plus, I planted three shrubs that are growing much larger than I had planned for, so I need to move them, and hope they survive the move. |

I can't recall what they are, I bought them 8 years ago. (Found them!)
Japanese Boxwood

I trim them back but I'm not sure if it's so healthy for it if I keep doing that year after year. Japanese Boxwood is often used as a hedge. It is compact, with small bright green leaves. It can reach 4-6' tall and wide or be kept smaller through pruninig. It can be sheared to shape. It does better in areas with milder winters. (I'm learning a lot today!)
My other trouble shrub is this one:
Boxwood - Golden Dream

I didn't research it at all, but now I know it's not good for where I have it (along front of my deck). Half the flowerbed is in the shade and the other isn't. My plants and flowers go from tall to short, because of the shade. It's funny looking. |
