I finally found a hat that works with my long hair!  I have always struggled with keeping my hat in place and my hair tied back.  This hat is brilliant!

It has a slit in the back for your ponytail to come out of!

Trailhead makes winter headbands and hats with a ponytail hole.  I love their gloves, and will try the headband next winter (my hair isn't long enough yet).

I wear my ponytail low, if I have one, so I've never encountered a problem. But it is good to see they are listening to their consumers and making products with that option. If the hat doesn't have a tail hole, low or not is the only option.

When I was looking for a headband/earband thing for this winter, I was surprised they made those with ponytail holes! Like the band is 3" wide,  can't the pony tail go over or under the 3" wide band? I would think it would be harder to perfectly place my ponytail on my head and have it match a 1" wide hole on a 3" wide band.

My Sugoi Speedster 3 has a fold over ponytail slit hole in the scuba hoodie. I cut off all my hair in the wintertime(it grows very fast!), so I haven't utilized the hole but it is awesome that it is there if you wanted to use it!

          an amazing likeness

"Tail hole".  That will be a useful phrase in the future...

Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.

I have a hat like this from Athleta that I like a lot.  I have kind of a tall head I guess, so hats usually will pop off as I run, so the ponytail hole helps to hold the hat onto my head too!

I prefer earbands to hats unless it is just stupid cold outside, and I just put my ear band under my ponytail, and I don't even relocate my ponytail from it's normal location to do so.  And I don't think I wear my ponytail especially high, but it would feel weird to have the back of my earband up that high.  As it is, it already creeps up on my ears and I feel the need to pull it down periodically.

              My wildly inconsistent PRs:

              5k: 24:36 (10/20/12)

              10k: 52:01 (4/28/12)

              HM: 1:50:09 (10/27/12)

              Marathon: 4:19:11 (10/2/2011)

I have the Trailheads one, but it looks funny on me. If it's not too cold, I wear a fleece earband. If I need a hat, braids have been working well--the hat stays on. I may check into the Target one, though--thanks for sharing!

It is really cold here often and an ear band just isn't enough for me a lot in the winter.  Plus when it is cold and snowing, the snowflakes will give me "brain-freeze" from hitting me on the forehead and I need a hat to stop that.  This hat has been amazing for me and I liked the price tag!

Saucony also makes one.  I love it.
