Running with a cold (Read 407 times)

Normally I would run with a cold, with a sore throat or a stuffy nose. But for the past few days I have been coughing a lot and now my ribs hurt when I cough (I didn't break my ribs just sore). However, when I am running, even when I am not coughing my ribs kill, making it impossible to run. Is there anything I can do about this, is it unsafe to run like this?

If you didn't crack a rib, then perhaps you pulled a muscle. Try applying a hot pad to the sore spot. That might help. Other than that, it might be best if you just took it easy for a few days. Can you try some cross training, perhaps spinning easily on a bike trainer? Victor
