Hi (Read 736 times)

Hi everybody, I have been posting mainly in the back of the packers, and some on mile a day, I thought I would

come over here to the other boards and start posting some, I am not a high mileage runner, 350 to 500 a year

seems to be what I do, every year I plan on doing more but do not seem to get it done, been running since 1983

when brother wanted me to get in 3 miles race so quit a 2 pack a day habit and started running, I am real slow

but I keep at it. My one brother runs marathons and wants me to do a half in May 23 , the Counsil Bluffs, Iowa

marathon, I told him maybe depends on if I can get in good enough condtion, but he keeps bugging me LOL

Just wanted to say HI, everybody be carefull out there.

Congrats, vintagerunner! Quitting the smokes is about the best step you could take! The number of miles doesn't really matter, neither does the speed. What's important is just what you've been doing: Getting out there and consistently putting in the miles. Keep it up, and keep enjoying yourself! You're doing great!

Thanks for the welcome everybody, yea quiting smokeing was a big plus, when anybody asks me how I quit smokeing

I tell them I started running to quit since it does not go very good with running, worked for me but did not see anybody

trying to quit like that. I been trying to get out everyday but there is a lot of 1 mile runs that I use for rest days, I been doing the

treadmill a lot because  tired of dealing with the weather, got 6 more inches of snow last night again. I run mainly to stay

in shape I have bunch of grandkids and helps if you can keep up with them, also this is for my ego, I like to stay thinner than my son in laws LOL
