I've been thinking about getting a pair of vibram's for a while now... I love running barefoot but would like a little protection.

who wants their toes smooshed together in a toebox? vibrams may look uncomfortable, but they feel great. imagine being able to pick up a pencil or climb a tree with a pair of shoes on!
ok we are runners here.... as far as running goes. if you like to barefoot run and you need a bit of protection from tough surfaces or hot/cold ground. these are the closest you can get to feeling like you are barefoot.

How do they run sizewise? Compare w/ other shoes if you can, as a rule of thumb. ie, I generally think I'm a 10-10.5 (in street shoes, not looks) but my past several Asics and a Nike have been 11s. My most recent NB is a 10.5. I'm intrigued, but will probably have to order online.

On the other hand, I maybe I could make my own by repeated coating Injinji socks in Shoo Goo.

Thanks,

As far as size goes, its the British system i think. If you go to the website and select a product there is a size conversion chart. The way i did is it to follow their instructions to measure my foot. I am normally a size 11 in most running shoes. And turned out to be a size 46 in a vibram. You can always return them and try a different size, they are pretty good about that.

Injinji socks in shoo goo would be a good idea too, they might not work as well in a 50 mi trail race though.
hehe just read about barefoot ted.

btw, i love these things to help further my barefoot training, but you just cant beat a pure barefoot on some soft spring grass.
i live in texas though and once summer hits, the pavement will blister ur bare feet and there are soooo many pickers, stickers, and other dangerous things in the grass....
the other thing these are good for (man, i should get a free pair from them or something) is just simple walking around in public places. when i was starting off barefoot running, i starting with alot of barefoot walking. unfortunatly most public places wont let you come int barefoot, but you can still go where you want in these babies!

I think the vibrams look very comfortable. A little lot unorthodox, but comfortable.
Quit being so damn serious!
