An ode to my &@#^$% ITBS (Read 182 times)

Hip Redux

    My dearest IT band

    I really ain't a big fan

    It seems whenever I train

    You cause my great pain

And so you can go pound sand

I'm not very poetic.  Could you do an ode to my posterior tibial tendon?

      Mmmmm...beer

I was singing the same tune, but since switching to the other side of the road and forming a love/hate relationship with my foam roller, my ITB and I are good friends again.  Smile

Sure!  As soon as I figure out what rhymes with tendon. LOL

            Hello to my PT tendon

(All of my body I'm friendin')

            If you wouldn't mind

            And can be so kind

Would you please frickin' start with the mendin'

            The tangents are moot.

I've done it all (perhaps a theme for my next limerick).  And I was doing GREAT but it's come back with a vengence and I friggin hate (hate!) my ITB right now.

                Dallas - nice!

pRED - that actually made LOL for real.

Sure, if you can make thoughts of Susan Sarandon somehow ameliorate my tendon wonkiness, let's do it!

                  Not a dude

I'm in the same boat - ITBS on both sides. Can you add tensor fascia latae to this little ditty?

FWIW, I've been in PT twice a week getting Graston treatments and it seems to be helping. I hope yours gets better soon!

                      Oh posterior tibial tendon
                      Why must you be a-hatin?
All I want to do is run
Be out there and havin' fun
And you be protestin' like Susan Sarandon

I'm not sure there is anything more painful than Graston on an irritated IT band (esp up by the tensor fascia latae).  Man oh man that hurts - but it did totally help the first time around.

I'm a believer in Graston. I tried foam rolling, rest, pretty much anything you can think of. Graston is the only thing that has really helped. It hurts like a bitch and I have bruises all over my legs, but it's worth it.
