Eric, I have a private group and our forum has some old threads I would like to remove. The only options I see allow me to lock the thread but not remove it. Just as a matter of housekeeping, is there a way a group owner can remove threads?

Yeah, well...sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

RA's forum code does not allow thread deletion. The best you can do is censor the threads so non-administrators can't access them anymore.
