pain while running (Read 507 times)

I have just started training for my 4th half marathon.  I have run very little over a very cold and snowy winter.  I did my first longer run (4 miles) a few weeks ago and felt great!   It was fast, for me, and was wonderful.  Since then, every run has gotten worse and more painful.  I was going to run 5.5 this weekend.  I could not run past more than a few houses before I got a debilitating pain in my right side underneath my ribcage.  I would equate it to a side stitch, but I can't imagine getting one so quickly (and I have not had much of a problem with them in the past).    I would walk a bit the pain would eliviate, I would then start to run again and immediately the pain would strike again.   Any ideas as to what may cause the pain?  I want to get out and run !!

for me it's the gallbladder. at least that's what i was told.

and 37 minutes is 37 minutes in the correct direction.

What happened when they said it was the gall bladder?  Can something be done or do i just have to suck it up?

It usually requires surgery to remove it.  A friend of mine had it. Although, her symptoms were chest pain almost like heart burn. She kind of thought it was heart problems so she went to the ER. I'd definitely get your problem looked at before you run again. Take care!

i'm choosing to suck it up. but you should have it checked and figure out what works best for you.

Sounds like a trip to the doc is in order.  I tried to run again this morning and it was impossible.   Thanks for the advice!
