Consistently Slow

Did the Pistol 100 report today. Someone in another forum asked a question. As I was replying  I realized it was draining to revisit  the mental aspects of the race. Has this been your experience?

Run until the trail runs out.

Not really. I find it very valuable to reconstruct my state of mind over the progression of a race. But I never really recapture the actual feelings, especially the absolute conviction that running is stupid and that I'll absolutely swear off it once the race is over.

Wow Ron!  Thanks for the report.

Doesn't sound like fun at all what with all that water / rain.  Good job.

Beating the cut off is stressful. I am a pessimist. My glass is always half empty.

Run until the trail runs out.

The rain and flooding were not optimal but it was warm. 2014 temps were 12- 29 F. Take out the flooding and it would have been perfect. Trying to beat cut offs are always stressful. It is the life of the slow.

Thanks. Wow, you didn't exactly hit the weather lottery your first time out. But you worked through it all. Very impressive. Next time you'll have extra confidence in your ability tough it out, plus probably better conditions.
