Help coming back from short injury break (Read 52 times)

    Hello all, I have been running for a while now. Within the last 4 months I have completed 2 halfs and typically have (1) 10+ mile runs and (2) 4 mile shorter runs each week. A few weeks ago I hurt my Achilles and that knocked me out for like a week. After that I got a stomach bug and I was down for another week or so. Now I'm back running and struggling to get a decent 3 mile run in. I feel all out of whack and not smooth when I run (used to feel nice and smooth). And I am slow as cold honey. No Bueno. Will I get 'it' back and anyone have tips?

    It's Tuesday every day

      Hi - don't worry; that's normal after a layoff. (It takes me ~ three weeks to get back to feeling normal after a significant break of, say, six weeks or more.) So just ease back into it, building back toward where you were, and you ought to be fine. Good luck!
