Good luck with your cat ... mine is stictly indoor and spayed however she still prefers to poop on my carpet under my dining room table even if her littler box is pristine ( oh and she really loves my fiances closet which he has to keep shut all the time now)...she does however pee in the littlebox thank goodness cuz cat pee is the worst to get out of carpet. I've tried everything...sprays, praising her when she does on occassion actually use the box, different littler boxes, different litter, different places to put the littler box , i even put construction paper on the floor so she wont want to go on it, and spent about $300 at a cat specialist vet to find out she is an extremely heathly if not extremely spirited and high strung cat. She's 3 years old and ever few days i have to pick up poop. Not exciting...according to the vet i've tried everything she can think of and she can't figure out why my cat prefers the carpet. Apparently some cats are just like that!! I would try some of the stuff listed....supposedly it usually works and i do wish you the best of luck
Also if any one has some ideas i haven't thought of PLEASE let me know...i love my little Kiki and wouldn't think of getting rid of her but the poop problem causes a little distress!!! |

Awww. That's kind of funny. I used to have a covered litter box with a door, and MAN they didn't like it. Besides the door spanking, it traps all the odor inside. Great for humans, not so great for the fastidious beasties who have to hang out in there a few times a day.
Has anyone tried saran wrap or aluminum foil in the cats' favorite spots? They don't like the feel of those on their paws.

try telling it you're unhappy.... in cat. Hiss, pick it up and quickly put it in the litterbox if you catch it squatting. Besides that, I don't have much for options for you.
My family's cat growing up didn't even have a litterbox indoors for the longest time, she spent so much time outdoors. She just prefered burying it in the ground to the litterbox.
Good luck! |

Have you ever tried 2 boxes? I have heard that some cats like to do #1 in one box and #2 in a different one. |
