This was the first week of taper for Boston. I missed a couple of runs, but I ran two very hard days, so I'm very happy. The workout on Wednesday was much faster than I'd hoped for. It gives me good hope for a 2:50. I haven't done anything faster than 3:45/km in the last three months, so I knew that the race on Saturday would be very slow.

March 31 – April 6

Monday – 6k, felt sick
Tuesday – 11k, winds of 60-90 km/h
Wednesday – 20k hard in 1:18:38, 5k splits of 19:55 (up), 18:57 (down), 19:53 (up), 19:53 (down) cruising in, felt very easy
Thursday – off, busy
Friday – off
Saturday – hilly 8k in 30:16, 35th place, good race, splits of 15:00 and 15:16
Sunday – 25k slow in the sun

79 km

Wed - 13 with 10 x 800 ~ HMP

Tot: 72 mi

I'm 2 weeks out from Boston now but I needed a relatively big week after losing almost 2 weeks to the flu. This week felt great. The easy days felt very easy. On the last few miles of the 20 I was around MP and my legs felt a bit heavy but that's to be expected since it had been 6 weeks since I'd run longer than 2 hours. I needed that. I felt like going into Boston with my last 2+ hour run being 8 weeks prior would have been a bad idea. I'm not back to where I was pre-flu but I'm getting closer.

Tuesday - 7 Miles
Sunday - 9 Miles, boy my hamstrings were achy before I went out.
Total 16 miles for the week

I still have physical issues (spine Cry), but I got out there.

I had a talk with a friend on Saturday who told me I needed to stop running. Angry
I was not in the mood to argue. Cool

Running this week? We'll see. Where is the back/neck issues super post on here?

T Weights
W 10.1 miles w/ faster finish
R Weights
F 3.4 Easy w/ 6 striders
Sa Weights
Su 6.3 miles w/ 4 miles at slow tempo

23.8 miles. This is my most mile per week since last May. Slowly trying to get some quality in as Green Bay half approaches May 18. Even those 4 slow tempo miles I could feel today. Still a bit leary with my hammys but feeling more confident

4/1/2008 - 1 Mi

Not a good week for me. Legs felt dead most during most of my runs. Decided to take a few days off. This week I'm going to slow down on my easy runs and hopefully I can do around 30, since I was able to do over 25 the week before last.
