What's the healthiest running schedule? (Read 313 times)

SheCan

Run 4 miles twice a week and 2 miles once a week

    or

    Run 2 mile 5 times a week

In this scenero, I'd pick 4 miles twice a week and 2 miles once a week.  In fact I might suggest two 3 miles  and a 4 mile?

Are you trying not to run more than 10 miles a week?  Whatever you pick is better than no miles a week.  I've heard of ultra runners who only run races as their training-  two 50ks races and a 50m to prepare for a 100m, situation.   Perhaps you should run 10 miles once a week?  I wouldn't suggest it but it could be done.

Finding time to exercise seems to be very challenging especially in your case that you have a pretty hectic work schedule. It is the common excuse for not exercising. However, keep in mind that you need to balance your life without sacrificing your fitness.  Stick with what running schedule works best for you to stay motivated.
