Not there now, but I would love to be in Mississipi. I think all I need is some nice cologne and a few glasses of wine.

I've lived in the Jackson area for the last 12 years. It took a while for it to grow on me. Jackson itself is an ailing city with a fleeing tax base and higher crime (real or percieved). The suburbs are growing and there are some nice places.

Around the Reservoir area there are some nice multipurpose trails and on weekends quite a few runners are on them. It's not a large running community here but it is growing. The Mississippi Track Club puts together races on a fairly consistent basis. The majority are 5k's.

Hey thanks...

I would be looking in Ridgeland or Madison (from what the guy says is the places to live). the trails sound nice...the heat and humidity will take some more getting used to...

The 5ks are GREAT!...my kids and I run those for something to do...I looked at their site and it appears that there is quite a number to pick from...with large fields too.....

I live on the Rankin Co. side of the Reservoir. Ridgeland and Madison are on the Madison Co. side. Both are nice places with growing retail bases. The real estate is a little bit pricer there. My side has all the same things going for it but housing costs are slightly lower. One thing we can't do in Rankin is buy liquor and there are no beer sales on Sunday. However that's easly solved by going over into Madison or Hinds County.

However it really doesn't matter about location because you can get to anywhere in the tri-county area in less than 45 minutes.
