Was thinking of an early morning pre race soak to relax. any thoughts?

I think a short sit in there would be great for loosening up the legs.

remember to not do anything before a race that you are not used to doing before normal runs.

try it a few times before your long runs. make sure it doesn't make your legs feel like jelly or make you light headed.

my first thought was that you should let your body aclimatize to the environment of your marathon. a hot bath may disrupt your body's thermoregulation. then if you go outside and get ready for the race, your body may take a while to figure out what is goin on, ect.

i would suggest just a warm shower to get you going. but, again, if it works great when you do it before training runs, then i should work great before a race.

If your marathon is in the evening, then yeah, go for it.
