so that's where all of our snow went!

I'm in Ontario and it's about 30 Farenheit outside and there is so little snow outside that I can see the blades of grass poking through!

Not that I am complaining, you are more than welcome to keep our snow.

But this time last year we had had at least a few feet of it!

Good luck w/ that treadmill.

I am so lucky to be in Orlando, but I MISS 4 seasons.

My mom is in Roanoke (home sweet home) and I bought her an airline ticket this morning, leaving tonight and arriving in Orlando at midnight. She was not looking forward to being snowed in, again. She'll be here for 10 days! The kids will be so excited when they find out!!

Wow!  That's being a great daughter.  She got out of town just in time.  I've already shoveled the drive once --6 inches so far and now another inch down.  It is pretty, but I'm getting tired of pretty.

Which HS did you attend?

Yep, Holiday Lake.  I was hoping the wetness would mostly drain off/squish out between crossings.  Oh well, is there a rating scale for HTFU points?

I think you might just have some snow this year. Have fun!

I just bailed on a run for the first time ever -- called my husband to come get me!  Yesterday, it was icy and slow, but doable.  This morning, it was just plain treacherous.  I had two ways to get back from where I was, both of which meant about 1/2 mile down roads with no shoulders, slippery footing, and enough traffic to make me nervous.  This being a small town, my first option was to stop in the bagel store and see if I knew anyone in there (I did, but no one I knew well enough to plop myself down at their table and make them drive me home!).  I had to go with the phone home option.  Sigh.  I've never run on a treadmill before, but I fear it's my only option for the next few days.

Thanks. The Holiday Lake 50k race director sent a course report email describing 5 inches of snow on the trail as of Sunday and more on the way.  Wow.  I did get a training run Saturday in a foot of snow, but on roads not trails.   My hope now is that the roads are good enough to get to the race.

I'm in Frederick, Maryland and have the same problem.  I've run on the treadmill the last 4 days, and it may be a while before hitting the road.  The roads are not cleared very well, there are no shoulders, and the sidewalks have 3 feet of snow on them.  My training has me doing an 18-miler on Saturday, and we are suppose to get 10-12 inches more tonight and tomorrow.  I may have to do my long run on the treadmill...

I can't imagine anything more dreadful.  We've got more snow coming, too, but I'm hoping things will be cleared up enough by saturday for the long runs.

The snow is helping me take a three day rest. However, the snow is the reason I need the rest. Running on snow and ice with 1.5 mile long hills was too much for my calf.

It's weird to see TV footage from DC - that city looks more like Portland, Maine than Portland does right now!  It's so nice to have a year with not much snow.

Weather calls for 36F Thur and 37F Friday.... so some might be melted off by Sat, but I think I may be sunk this week...

Because, I am originally from NH so I am not impressed by snow. Although, I don't think I have seen it snow this many times in such a short time.
