pace calculator in interval data (Read 105 times)

Forgive me if this has been suggested before (or don't, I'll just pretend like you did) =)

I use the feature here:  http://www.runningahead.com/tools/calculators/pace quite extensively when trying to record treadmill workouts.

Example:  I know I ran an 8:34/mi pace for .15 miles.  So I use the calculator to determine how much time that took.

It would be neat if the interval form (which presently accepts distance & time) would accept distance & (time XOR pace).

So I would enter Distance=.25 (and select mi. from dropdown) and then enter Duration = 8:34 (and select "per mile" instead of "actual").

I guess now that I type it, it would actually look a bit kludgy visually.  Well, carry on.  I can just keep using http://www.runningahead.com/tools/calculators/pace, which is awesome unto itself.

Well, this one is on RA:

        =)

I was envisioning it being integrated with the entry process of workout intervals.

...but I appreciate the link nonetheless.

          bdub,

Didn't you make this request before?  I've added your request to the queue.  I got much of the new workout editor completed so this is probably the time to add it.

Out of curiosity, how do you know your pace and distance but not time?  How do you measure pace?

This can arise on a treadmill for example. You set the treadmill to a particular pace and then run a certain distance.

Of course the treadmill can also tell you the time... but you only need to remember two of the three data in order to determine the third.

Did you just bust out an 'XOR' in a running forum post?!  I like it!

              Why is it sideways?

I would use this function, as when I am not wearing a watch, I often know the distance and pace (approx.) and would appreciate a field that auto-populates time. It's no biggie, but I often do this math in my head when filling out the time field.
