I thought that I mentioned it in this thread, but apparently not.
My ex-father in law has a tattoo that reads Pit. (actually... it reads Pit and then has a second t that was clearly added haphazardly later)
He went to Pitt. While drunk, he decided to get a tattoo. For school pride. But he did not communicate his needs well.

I get a tattoo of my family's coat of arms a number of years ago. The tattoo guy had a bit of trouble making it as detailed as I wanted though. But I think it's a neat idea!

A friend of mine has a brother who did this. Then found out the family name got changed somewhere along the way (Ellis Island, maybe) and he was actually from a different clan.
