calculators (Read 1177 times)

In an early draft of his thesis, my friend decided to use "light year / light year" as the units for strain on a graph to see if the prof would notice.  My dad, the professor, certainly did notice!  He had to change it back to the boring "inch / inch."

    Love it because its correct.

      keeponrunning,

I just realized that RA already has this calculator.  It's located in the calculators section under the Resources tab.  Or you can just click here.

thanks.  never realized it was there.

Brilliant! I hadn't discovered these either. I'm always trying to do the conversions in my head when I'm reading all the great information posted. Miles just seem such a strange distance when you've been brought up metric, but since starting running and reading RA I often think of paces in terms of miles/min. Way to confuse myself!

Although, I'd still love a calculator where I could input my km/min pace and get told my mile/min pace. I have created a mini one in excel, but it would be great to have one here.

One day I decided I wanted to become a runner, so I did.

          Try this:

          RunningAhead Pace Calculator

Put distance as 1 km, your minutes per KM in the time field, and make sure the pace units dropdown is set to miles.  Click calculate next to pace, and voila!  your pace in minutes per mile is displayed.

Or if you are away from RA, use the "Rule of .6" to get a close estimate:

          Miles/min = km/min * 0.6

          km/min = miles/min * 1.6

Thought there was going to be a discussion on pocket calculators.
