I can't remember if it was Globby or JeffDonahue that first mentioned PGOD
If you are going acronymy on us, I think many of us would prefer PB GOD to P GOD.

I'm racing a 10K next week. I could start a new thread to ask about pacing, but I suspect it is the same as a 5K, only longer.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
Yes. Ran one this past weekend and actually didn't start out to fast in this one. I stayed consistent throughout and PR'd the race. 45:01 which was a 48 second improvement on my previous best. I went into this race knowing that if I started out too fast like I do with my 5K's, I'd be done. With 5K's, it's just a matter of holding on for 2 more miles when I kill that first mile.
I hate you Purdey. For ever and ever
What was the secret, they wanted to know; in a thousand different ways they wanted to know The Secret. And not one of them was prepared, truly prepared to believe that it had not so much to do with chemicals and zippy mental tricks as with that most unprofound and sometimes heart-rending process of removing, molecule by molecule, the very tough rubber that comprised the bottoms of his training shoes. I have a bad habit of starting out way too fast in 5k`s. My current PR race, I started off planning on pacing my sister (who`s 5k time is about 3min slower than mine). I had just raced the day before and thought I was too tired to push it. I started the first 1/2 mile slow, then felt good so I picked it up as I went along. Ended up winning the female division.

"Running long and hard is an ideal antidepressant, since it's hard to run and feel sorry for yourself at the same time. Also, there are those hours of clearheadedness that follow a long run." -Monte Davis
