How much did you donate (Read 1104 times)

Getting Faster!!!

I use a Garmin Forerunner and upload my runs to this website. I think this site is one of the best site that I came across. I do like the Nike+ site more because it has challenges and training schedules. However, it doesn't support my Garmin Forerunner. I would like to donate to the site and want to know what is a reasonable amount.

    I du! (+CX +Mtn.)

I think reasonable (at least for me) is what I would be willing to pay were RA a subscription-based site.  Ask yourself what it's worth to have such an elegant, easy-to-use, AD-FREE way to keep an online running log.  Just like the discussion about charity, what one user can afford to pay vs. anyone else is going to be different, regardless of the "value" of RA (and Eric's work), which could be seen as a subjective sort of thing.

I think you should decide if the site is a positive value for you. My wife and I decided on a roughly 2x magazine subscription type rate. I doubt you could be faulted for anything you might give.

+1 This is a fantastic website, from someone who does a little web work.  My only worry is whether there's any backup for Eric.  Is there someone to take over if Eric gets kidnapped by aliens?

I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.

Absolutely right, many hands make light work.  When I hit the donate button and sent along $26.2 I qualified for Boston.  Might not have been the only reason, but I'm quite certain the good karma helped.

Think of this site as a piece of your running equipment, only you get to go into the running store, pick it out and pay whatever you want for it.   It seems that it is worth at least a tech shirt or a good pair of running shorts, if you really like it, perhaps a pair of running shoes...  Don't forget to replace your equpment regularly...

Usually when aliens kidnap people they replace him with a clone so no one get suspicious.  So my guess would be Eric's clone would take over or maybe already has.

I think the plan is for the benevolent folks at active.com to become the stewards of our humble running home on the web, and introduce new features and enhancements that "clean up" your log entries for you and make things much tidier.

I'm lucky enough to protect our beloved leader on Thursdays as part of his security detail of 10 or 15 ninjas.  Eric is generally smart enough to head for the safety of home before his security detail gets really lit up at the bar, so fear not.

                    Head in the Clouds

Isn't it kinda hard to protect our beloved leader from so far behind?

I look at other subscription software services as a general guide. AV, anti-malware, etc. Speaking of which, I need to pony up myself. Running club dues too. Sign says, "no dues, no booze" and we can't have that.

I'm surprised it's not a subscription service, or at least surprised by no ads.  Personally, I love RA, it's the best log I've found.  I did contribute some fundage for the cause, because I think it's worth it.

                              Beware, batbear...

I'm coming up on one year using this website and it has been invaluable.  I donated $36 this time and I hope to match that again in 6 months. Thank you RA community and eric Smile !
