I donate cash to NPR. I have more time than money to spread around, so I race direct 2 races that are fund-raisers for local non-profits, and have helped organize a road race series that is comprised of 8 race (all but one of them are fund-raisers). As the series has grown, so has the amount of money that each race has donated to their respective causes. I'm also on the board of a local non-profit, and help them put on fund-raisers and raise awareness.

I give money to the CF Foundation, Organ Donoration and my church. I'll buy (donate) candy from just about any little kid with a good cause...little league, girl scouts, etc. I donate close and other household goods to Salvation Army. I donate a lobe of my lung to my little sister.
I know a couple folks who donated cars...the tax benefit was worth more than whatever they could have gotten trying to sell it.
Modified because I can't type...still...you'd think after posting on enough boards and with e-mail and work I'd be OK at it...but clearly I'm not. |

Hope Lodge , an alternative to hotels for people with cancer receiving treatments at a hospital in Greenville NC.
and then just about any cancer related charity, RFL, SGK, and such. My father in law died of brain cancer and it makes my wife feel a little better to help out people who were in the same situation as she and her family. |
Things to do this year:
Beaufort Road Race 5K 07.19.08 -- 25:40
Twin Bridges 8K 10.04.08 -- 39:53 PR
First Carolina State Bank Half-Marathon 11.22.08
