Do Increases in VO2max cause Improved Performance? (Read 1004 times)

Good summary, MrPH.  You nailed it.

    No offense.

      Thanks in advance.

      No say on p3!

I'll start giving a flying rat's ass about VO2max when they start giving out medals for it at the Olympics.

Nice. (Reminds me of Emil on running style.)

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

I love the science, but only when backed up with something actionable.  You can infer training programs from even a poor undergraduate college physiological book.  The only thing I get from these posts is entertainment at everyone else's responses.

            That's cool.   And very understandable.

I love the science.  Especially when it directly leads to something actionable, but also when it confirms or denies a belief, opens new lines of thought, or corrects a misunderstanding.  I'd prefer if it always led to some new training benefit, but that simply is not the case.
