Just curious, the front 4 are paddling on alternating sides of the boat, while the back 2 are on the same side. Is there any coordination as to which side each person pulls from? Cool pics, cool hobby... Cool, Lynn B

steersperson (#6) will typically only paddle on the left side if there are waves to prevent capsizing because the outrigger is on the left side. Occasionally if the 'ama' or outrigger keeps popping then #5 will stay on the left side also as needed. Pam, you should see some of the top women's crews...most of them have bigger guns than me . Unfortunately they don't allow mix crews (yet)..the women's race is two weeks before the men's. My wife has done about 6 or 7 crossings, while this is only my second time. So yes, either some form of sex change will need to be done either by you or by our crew Oh an by the way, Philly Outrigger Club
Wow -that is so cool. How long have you been paddling?
