Running scared (Read 293 times)

Tara, I definitely understand the FEAR.  And I definitely understand the KNEE.  After knee surgery in Sept 2011, I remember keenly the very first little tentative 2-mile run I embarked on 6 months later.  I was terrified that it would hurt again and that my running days were over.  Terrified.

Glad you are back, hope your illness goes away quickly, and you can get back to doing what we all enjoy.  The fear will fade as time goes by, but it may never go away completely.  For me it has not evaporated completely, but I sure appreciate every day running way more than I did a few years ago.  Congrats on the big marathon PR.  I don't think it will be your last, not with this kind of spirit:

I also know that if you train hard you risk getting injured in exchange for pushing the envelope.  I did that and I do not regret it.

I LOVE that.  Absolutely LOVE it!
