It's always interesting to read different views. I like Allan's method and his ideology. Might be that it is not true physiologically. Still, I'm eager to continue his way to train. At least his method has helped many athletes to improve.

My MHR is also quite low, 174. Might be why I like to train in LHR and why I see it beneficial. I would still say it is worth to try. If it do not good for you can always revert to your original training method.

It is nice to see that original poster has found our lovely community in Low Heart Rate Training. Maybe I should put this topic up there.
