We had a BOB that I used from time to time when my girls were younger. I do want to put in a pitch for the leash, as I think it's a really essential piece of equipment with a baby jogger. Joggers roll much easier than other strollers -- that's kind of the point of them, after all -- and they can get away from you in an *instant* if not leashed to you. Really, it's not like a normal stroller, it can be off like a shot. Once you have the leash, too, you can do things like run without having to have a grip on it all times. So, for me, the leash was not just added safety, but added functionality as well.

Whatever you decide, enjoy your runs with your girl! It sounds like it will work really well with your schedule.

I always used the strap. I like to be able to continue to swing my arms and the strap allows me to give the stroller a little push and get a few steps in before giving another little push. You can also steer to some extent with the strap, especially if the jogger tends to go to one side.

Funny story: I had a bet with a work buddy one time...that I could beat him in a 5K if I were pushing my 4yr old in a jogging stroller. He wanted to see me running with the stroller prior to the bet. I brought the jogger to work one day and went for a lunchtime run with a 5gal water jug strapped in for weight. I pretended for his benefit that it was really hard to push. Got some pretty strange looks from people driving by. Dusted my buddy in the 5K and still won't let him forget it.

The strap probably is important, but I'm too paranoid to run without my hand on the bar. I try to change hands so I'm not always swinging wildly with one arm, but invariably m left hand spends 80% of the time as the driver.

And be prepared to stop to pick flowers and pet dogs.

I too think the strap is key. I don't run with my hands on the bar at all times, and don't need to because of the strap. He's not getting away from me with the thing tethered to my wrist.

I'll try it without the strap first....at my pace I would still be afraid to trust it to keep control if the thing hit a bump and veered, but the time I reacted it would be sideways. We'll see how it goes if it warms up a bit this week.
"Talent" is a cop-out for not wanting to try harder.
