Since my legs are not talking nice to me this weekend I went to aquajog at the Y, and then got into the whirlpool. This weird lady starts babbling and I'm just being polite hoping that some good looking ironman with sexy chest with help take my mind off my aches and pains. Then she says this:

Crazy Lady: Ya my youngest was the victim last. She's the victim now. What do I do about her? He's abusing her now too. My x-husband that is.

Me: Your x-husband is mollesting your child?

Crazy Lady: Yes. He's doing it to her now.

Me: Then you need to go to the police. You need to get your child help today.

Crazy Lady: Ya I suppose. My oldest wants to smoke. I told him he should wait till he's 18 and then decide.

I shake my head, tell her that smoking stinks, sucks, is an expensive habbit, cancer kills, and that any smoker will tell you, just never start.

I left, couldn't take it no more, but I feel bad for her kids. Frick...

I can't imagine that there's anything else you could have said or could do, you have no idea who she is, where she lives, who her kids are...sucks.

You probably did the right thing.

I would say "No hablo inglés. "
I'm condemned by a society that demands success when all I can offer is failure.

Probably should have reported her to the police, or at least child protection, whatever it is you have up there. If she was on the up and up, and she knew what was going on with her ex and her kid, she has some accountability, as well.

There is always a crazy lady in the hot tub at our Y. That's why I don't use it. I also rarely make eye contact.

Ya, I kind of wish I had done something. I can't imagine trying to explain the situation to the staff at the Y, they are all high school students.

My daughter works as a lifeguard during the summer at an outdoor public pool. When she was sixteen she noticed a girl bobbing under water around these two guys standing in the shallow end. Upon closer inspection she noticed what was really going on. she had to ask the three to leave, telling them "you can't be doing that in a public pool". If you see something at a pool or hot tub, you can sure bet the kids that work there all day everyday see and hear much more.

Several times a summer I'd deal with this when I was that age and a lifeguard.
