| Dark Knight. It would have been great at 2 hours. But by then (plus the half hour of commercials and previews) I started wondering if it would ever end. Very few directors could make a movie that long, like David Lean, Stanley Kubrick or Ridley Scott. And never, ever should a movie based on a comic book character exceed 2 hours. |

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
Great title, in a "Snakes on a Plane" kind of way.
However... oh Sweet Teenage Jesus, this is the slowest movie I've seen in AGES. I don't like all the quick cuts in today's movies, but paint moves towards its dry conclusion faster than this movie.
The odd thing is that the movie clocks in slightly longer than 2 1/2 hours. The original cut was 4 hours. I can NOT comprehend watching something with this pacing for 4 hours.

agree. There was a clear break in the plot to wrap it up and save the rest for another movie. Pacing was slow and then they did too many ...post plots? Finish the story with the Joker and let it go. |

| DW and I recently watched Pride and Prejudice, the recent version with Keira Knightley. It was outstanding -- a wonderfully made movie. Great job by the leads, and excellent supporting cast, especially the always-excellent Donald Sutherland. After a while, I just thought to myself, "screw losing my Man-Card, I really like this." |

| Today we saw "Changeling". Wow, much better than I expected. Intense and disturbing, especially considering it's a true story. Clint Eastwood rocks. |

I thought it looked good...better than the reviews would suggest.
Has anyone else seen "Zack & Miri Make a Porno"? did and I saw it last weekend...awesome and very VERY funny! Great cast, great story, Kevin Smith makes a good movie. |

I'm working on a Mozart horn concerto right now so I figured, what the heck, why not watch Amadeus?
Holy long, Batman.
I haven't made it through yet. It's like watching a Wagner opera. |

This movie was even slower than "Punch Drunk Love" which I didn't think was possible. I thought I might have been the only person who actually sat all the way through it. |

We saw that too. Very disturbing, but well done. People weren't even talking on their way out of the theater. |
