Cross Training while Tapering? (Read 394 times)

    Hi folks. I am in training for the Pensacola Marathon (my first) on Feb 17. To make a long story short, I have been a member of this big fitness center for the past couple of months and haven't been there yet due to my training being at peak mileage and my limited time. Tomorrow will be my last long run (21 mi) and then I taper. So, is there any kind of cross training I should or shouldn't be doing during my taper? This is my first gym membership and I want to try it all...pilates, yoga, spinning, circuit. They also have a couple of swimming pools. Should I be doing anything like that at all?       My thoughts are no, don't introduce anything in to your routine now that you haven't been doing all along through training. Even when I am doing cross training during training I cut that activity back during taper as well to make sure I am ready for the race.
