I think you'll find a better correlation with education and income, or lack thereof.
A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example, show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, "plate," or "shrimp," or "plate o' shrimp" out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconsciousness.

So, you're saying that obese = stupid?

By that logic, if an obese (stupid) person were to lose weight, at the point they ceased to be obese, they would also cease to be stupid.  I never knew weight loss impacted one's intellect in such a way.

But yeah, obese = stupid, sounds like a great theory.  You should look into getting that published.

He's saying that being the "least obese" isn't a title to be particularly proud of, because it implies you are still obese.

 HaHaHaHaHa!

Wow.  Yup, I read that completely the wrong way.  Fair point.

I hearby retract all the snark put forth in my earlier post.  I'll not modify it out though.  I hate when people do that.

I said something stupid and will leave the record of that statement unmolested.

Furthermore, I'll not make any mention of Michael Jackson after the statement containing the word "unmolested".

Wait, damn.

Isn't the socioeconomic link that higher calorie foods are cheaper, while fresh, healthy foods are expensive? Also, there seems to be an educational component, though I'm no longer surprised when reasonably well educated folks know shockingly little about proper nutrition.

Yep...one can get pretty full on white bread, potatoes, and mac-n-cheese.  One can also get pretty heavy.  Produce and lean cuts of meat can be relatively $$, especially in areas with short growing seasons.

Think how lost uneducated people are in this area.

one of the highest rates of obesity can be found near the Valley in California where such an abundance of vegtables are grown (but not eaten).

2010 goal = 4:59 for 1,500 meters.
