I own a running store and can proudly say we are one of the only shops in the country that does not even stock insoles.

Not needed unless a serious condition... in which a custom orthotic would be the logical option

      ---------

I've been wearing custom orthotics for over 10 years, so I would say they are important to me. When I was first fitted (14/15 years old), I was told that I over pronated. When I was recently re-fitted a year or so ago, I was told that I had neutral pronation. I'm not sure if the change was natural, caused by the orthotics, or because different doctors fitted me.

I have never used insoles and like Seth said, they are mostly not needed.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.
