At my wits end... (Read 491 times)

I've been having a lot of issues with my right leg recently, and this is bad since indoor track started yesterday, and I'm a distance runner. My injury started off with just a normal run on a treadmill. about twenty minutes in, I had a sudden pain in my groin and under my glutes. I could barely walk afterward. After a few days, the pain felt better. The doctor said it was a groin strain. I took a week off running. Then when I tried to run again the pain was back. Took another week off. Tried to run again. Pain was still there, though not as bad. Ran a couple days after that. Sore, but okay. That was this past Sunday. Yesterday, I ran. It was a little tight and sore, but I was alright. But since it was our first track practice, I had to run the mile, and ran pretty hard. Afterward, it was sore, and after a few hours, it progressively became more sore. During the night I kept waking up from the pain. In a spot near my groin, under the crease of my butt, I can feel a spot that is very tender. So now ill recap and list my symptoms, no matter how small they are: -soreness in lower butt/groin area -it hurts when I bend over and I can't move my leg without pain when I bend over at the hip -popping in hip, but that's been going on for a while, before the pain started -on and off throbbing in pubic area -dull pain down front of thigh -it doesn't hurt to walk, but it still feels off -dull pain on right side of butt/thigh when sitting -tightness in right calf, especially when running -occasional tightness in hip -it hurts to raise my left leg, like when I'm putting on pants, but I can stand on my right leg without much pain -the pain isn't as bad when I'm running, but it comes back worse afterward -this happened a few weeks after I got new shoes with more support -yesterday after I ran it hurt to cough in my groin but now it's better I don't know if my dr was right and it's a groin strain and I'm just overreacting, or if its something worse. I've had amenorrhea for almost a year so I'm really worried its a stress fracture or something. I want to be able to run because it's my only year of track since I'm a senior. I'm willing to run through the pain but only if I'm not going to make it worse. Sorry about the format I'm posting this on my phone.

Didn't you already have a thread about this elsewhere...and to which people were already responding?

What are you doing to fix the issue?  For me personally taking time off does very little to fix the underlying issue.

If you are truly desperate - Try getting on some equipment to strengthen the area.  I had issues once and took 4 months off - No help.  I then started to do 5 exercises that strengthened my hips and groin and within 2 weeks I could run pain free.  Most family doctors are pretty worthless when it comes to sports injuries - Hopefully you are seeing a sports specialist.

Thought I'd seen another thread about this, but did they mention trigger point therapy? Find the root cause of the problem. Shoes, stride, to much to soon..............

Very light - It is about a good number of reps and not going badass with the weights.
