map issues? (Read 791 times)

I tried searching the forums but didn't find anything....I can't see or edit any of my maps. Even when I try to create a new course. Am I doing something wrong or is it my computer?? Thanks! Katrina

Hi Katrina, I'm happy to see a post from you, even when you're reporting a problem. How's the running? There seemed to be more problems with the maps these days but they are definitely not caused by changes on my part because I haven't modified that code in a long while (a new upgrade is supposed to be coming soon). I would guess that Google modified something on their end and broke the maps on some browsers. A quick test for you would be to head over to maps.google.com and see if you can see the maps. If you can, then maybe you need to reload the scripts on my site, which involves pressing ctrl-f5. Oh, which browser and operating system are you using? If it doesn't work even on Google, then there's something wrong with your computer. I can help you through this but will need more information about your setup (browser and OS versions). eric Smile
Thanks for the help! I can see the google maps, tried ctrl f5 and no luck. I'm using IE6
Hi Katrina, Are you getting an error message? Or is the map area of the page just blank? To check for errors, you may have to look down at the bottom of the window in the status bar: Also, because of the flaws in IE6, you should probably consider upgrading to IE7 or Firefox 2. -brian
Hi brian, The map area is blank, it says 0 miles, but it still has a "this map was created on date" at the bottom. This is my work computer so I can't upgrade until they decide to... Sad Well, I just tried it from home and it worked (on the same computer and off the network) so it must be blocked on the network now. grrr Thanks for your help though!

Can you put firefox on the computer and try with that?

First porn, now runningahead, what will the IT trolls block next? Roll eyes Oh well, at least you're able to get access from home. Though I'd be curious to see how they're blocking the maps only... Does the rest of the site work ok? no other things missing or acting strange? -brian
                  eric :)

It is indeed odd that they may be blocking certain files but not others. Is the map screen white or gray? The answer may shed some light on what was downloaded.
everything else works fine on the site....even the forums which is what they should want me to stay away from Wink the blank map was white they just uploaded some security changes recently, didn't tell anyone and people couldn't even get to sites that they need for their job....well done
just FYI..they are working again at work Surprised
