Happy Summer Solstice, aka Midsummer Sun, aka first day of summer (or winter for our friends down under). The sun (in his jealous sky) reaches its farthest point north on its annual trek today at 2:06pm EDT (18:06 Universal Time). It will be directly overhead along the Tropic of Cancer today (~23.5° North Latitude). It's the longest day of the year in terms of duration between sunrise and sunset.

Sounds like a good excuse for a party! I'm going to one tonight -- how 'bout you? Smile
