Have any of you runners ever used this stuff. I am thinking about trying it. A guy I run with swears by the Endurox. I was thinking about trying the Accelerade on a shorter run to see how my body does with it and then the Endurox R4. I feel like I am not getting enough in my body on my long runs. I do gel shots but after 12 miles or so I don't feel like putting anything into my body that is not liquid. I can keep adding in Gatorade but I feel it is not providing my body with enough cards/protein or something. Thoughts and opinions?

Endurox isn't bad...but I prefer chocolate milk. Seriously. I find the Endurox to be WAY too sweet, so I end up diluting it to half strength.

I take Endurox R4 and I love it. I will take Accelerade before hard workouts and then I take Endurox after.

Chocolate milk is a good idea too but I can't really keep that in my locker.

I bought endurox and used that for one container, then switched to accelerade for a few containers, but finally just switched to powdered gatorade and chocolate milk. Actually, what I've been doing this week post run is banana, ovaltine, and milk in the blender and I feel like I've noticed a difference, which I never did with any of the above.
Goals for 2008:
HM PR on Jan 6th (<1:35:42) 1:34:29!
Don't take prolonged time off! Already have :(
Castaic Lake Sprint Tri on 8/9

Train without sugar intake off any type. You don't neeed it. Force your body to use its fat stores. The more fat you use in the fuel mix, the more endurance you will have. Real food (fruit, eggs, grains, nuts, seeds, etc.) within 20-60 minutes after the run along with juices and milks are better than these sugar/salty water products.

I have used Accelerade but it gives me a belly ache for some reason. This is 100% true if I mix gel shots w/ Accerelade. (not together, but consumed on run).

Now I strictly use Gu/Hammer during the run, and Gookinaide Hydralyte after the run user. Seems to work for me.

Also, what are eating pre run? If it is first thing in the morning, I will have one half a banana and a few spoons of oatmeal, wait 15 minutes then go.

Accelerade at mfg recommended strength upsets my stomach as well. I use it at half strengh with success. I have Endourox but don't use it that much. I usually have some leftover carbs in the fridge that I reheat and eat. I find that it has helped with post run aches the next day when I do use it.

Epicak also does the trick

Actually an ironman friend of mine recommended Perpetum and it may be great for elite endurance runners but me being a 10 min/mile marathoner do great with water and gatorade and GU.

I used accelerade witih training and did great with it...but again.. I am not a fast endurance runner

I have used Accelerade all this past season with absolutely no problems and like it a lot. I usually drink it after my workout vs before. I was usuing another product form GNC before that and they discontinued it so I switched over.

It may just be a mind thing, but I think it helps me and if that in itself makes me run faster so be it.

FYI - I'm a novice runner, just completed year 4, but this year completed 2 10Ks at a pace of 25-30 seconds faster than my previous 5K paces and knocked 5 minutes off my 5M time and well over 2 minutes off of my 5K time. So was it the accelrade or was it just my stepped up training and intensity?
