So this was essentially aspirin poisoning. Not just one dose, but someone spreading it over a large percentage of their body day after day after day....and still, the only known case of such. And it was NOT ibuprofen poisoning, as the first person to mention this understood. Completely different drugs.
So it's a pretty safe product, when abused to a huge extreme, let to a single unfortunate fatality. One should not extrapolate such an extreme case to mean that reasonable use of similar products is foolhardy.
Not the same article also quotes the danger I mention of excessive acetominophen usage.
