Very impressive. Congrats!

Big congratulations!!! Way to go. See you in Boston.
Wow! That's huge! Congrats, David!
not bad for mile 25
Congratulations David! I read your RR. To get your goal/BQ on your first marathon without any reliable pacers is pretty amazing!
David, Your accomplishment is truly noteworthy in light of some of the setbacks you've faced along the way:

That's a great result, and proof that calculators are bullshit!
I did it! 3:09:28. The last mile was VERY LONG.

LOL
That even didn't include my nipples hurt for a while after a couple long runs. I wore a compression shirt for the race.

I read your report. Congratulations David. You seemed to have eaten a lot on Saturday. I was getting full just reading it, but whatever works for you my man. I'll have to try to notice what I eat next time before a marathon to see if it's as much.
I followed runningplanet's diet in the last couple days before the race. It suggests to have 70% carb. I tried to store maximum glycogen as I could. I guess it wouldn't be that fast to turn excess carb to fat. I did poo more than usual by the way.
Here is the diet suggestion from runningpalnet. I added the bold part .
On the following three days increase your carbohydrate intake to 70% of total calories and decrease your running duration from 20 minutes to total rest. (I didn't take the total rest part) The result will be muscles that are “maxed out” in their carb storing ability. The best types of carbs to eat during your marathon taper are also low GI carbs so that your blood glucose levels maintain a steady state.
