RunningAHEAD - Topic: Calculating miles ran

I ran a new route today and forgot to use the heart rate monitor, so I used google maps to calculate the miles ran, but not sure if that's accurate. and I am sure not everybody uses a heart rate monitor, so what do you guys use to calculate your runs Thanks

You see the tab at the top of the RA screen called Tools? Click on it. Map feature. It's as accurate as anything else.

Anne, thanks. I used that too as a back up and "it is as accurate as anything else". You're right.

if you are on the roads... mapmyrun.com has a follow roads feature that allows you to click the road and it plots all the points between the two points you clicked... which if you are running on a curving road helps quite a bit...
