Ability to comment on somebody's training log? (Read 1590 times)

What does Tunis make?

Of course, now there is a nifty PM (private message) system.

Also, you can comment on people's workouts on facebook, if they have it configured to show their RA workouts.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

    Giddyup.

I would hate this feature.  And we have private messages.

      Ultima tastes like failure.

      Decker Challenge 12/12

I would hate this feature.  And we have private messages.

         ditto

If I want to solicit comments about a run I'll post the results and ask for input

You guys post on the forums so often you can expect people look at your logs more frequently then non-posters.  I would like to see this option to comment on friends and family and get feedback.

It should be an option though, and be a user setting.

            We've Got Big Hills

              This has endless possibilities.

I'd love to comment on your log.

                +1

Being able to comment on others' logs and make the training logs themselves more social would be invaluable. I love how Daily Mile allows you to "friend" and "motivate" others as well as comment on workouts. There's already a community here, but this would just add another dimension.

                Run like a kid again!

As long as you can set who can comment and could turn it off plus maybe delete unwanted comments I think it sounds very cool.

However, I don't think this feature is a big deal.  I personally would rather eric spend his precious time doing other things he enjoys.

If you want a place for people (your team) to comment on your workouts you can create your own group or send a message.   Just my two cents worth.

Isn't that what Facebook and the Groups function are for?

                    I look my best blurry!

Happy with having my log public/private as desired.  We have private messaging which has worked well for me.  From there you can share e-mail, phone numbers, etc.  It's all good.

I just want to know how to add photos to my posts.  ???

There are better features to develop and implement. This one is a potential time bomb. Count me as a NO if there is any voting.

Yes, there should be a comment feature for those that want it.  Those that don't would not turn it on.  You should be allowed to set so only your groups can comment or anyone if that is what you want.  You should also be able to block specific users and delete unwanted comments.  If most of these features cannot not be implemented, then I agree we should not have it at all.

Can't you do most of that with Facebook?

I just want to know how to add photos to my posts.  ???

Click the toolbar button just to the right of the hyperlink button. The one you want is a square with a mountain and a red sun. The second from the left one in the strip below:

Hm. Never mind. It shows fine in preview, but apparently it looks way too small when finally posted. Apparently preview doesn't actually show what it will look like. Kinda confusing.

Anyway, the main drawback is that it requires you have your photo publicaly posted somewhere, because you have to give a link to it.

                                Picture Posting:

                                1. Download pics to a site like photobucket.

                                2. Once the photos are downloaded, place your cursor over a pic.

                                3. A list will "open" below the photo.

                                4. Highlight and copy the 2nd link choice - "Direct Link"

                                5. Come back here and get into a reply box

                                6. From the top tool bar above, click on the one that looks like a mountain.

                                7. In the box that appears, paste your link from photobucket.
