Periformis Pain still after tennis ball massage. (Read 695 times)

aes

For anyone who has had periformis pain, I read from MANY people that sitting on a tennis ball in the area that had pain helped them to recover. I have been doing this for about a day and now sometimes when I walk, I feel a sudden, sharp spark in my buttocks. Is this normal? Will it go away? Do I need to just continue doing the tennis ball massage? Any experiences that anyone has had would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Isn't that just a pain in the ass? Big grin I get it once in a while, but it never bothered me to the point where I can't run. If I have it, it tends to go away after about 2 or 3 miles into the run. I did notice that it occurs a lot more frequently if I run exclusively on the left side of the road (against traffic). I suspect it's an imbalance thing due to the slant of the road. Sitting on a tennis does make it feel better, but I'm not sure if that would fix the problem though.
