Having tried MotionBased (Garmin's running journal/tool) I feel like it was 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Perhaps we are spoiled with RunningAhead... :)

I am always on the lookout for something that can help me improve my run. Besides talking with other runners, and reading, only runningAhead has helped.

You're dead on! MotionBased is great for downloading from your Garmin, but that's it. It's really not a running/workout log since you can add very little data to the data downloaded from the Garmin. Also, I've had times when MotionBased had a different result than the desktop download software. Very confusing.

I agree, RunningAhead is the better tool hands down!
"Long-distance runners have to be very strange people. You have to really want to do it. You don't have to win or beat someone, you just have to get through the thing. That's the sense of victory. The sense of self-worth."
