Ed... the ever-pragmatic one. Big grin

Congratulations on the Garmin, whichever you choose, you'll find it is quite handy. Though, it doesn't do the dishes or take out the trash... that's in the upcoming 505 model.

Good bits of info as I'm contemplating getting 205 vs. 305. Don't want to waste the money if I don't really use the heart rate monitor - Hmmmmmmm ... decisions, decisions, decisions!

I never notice it on my wrist.

Until I read this, I forgot this was a concern of mine before buying my 205. I'm not sure if it's the shape or not, but it stays put really well and I sometimes forget I have it on.

I got past the fact that it is the size of a cat's head, because so many RAers recommended it so highly. I'm firmly in the Garmin lovers camp now, it's a great training tool.

Let me rephrase. Tongue

I'm guessing it feels like wearing a bra. I, of course, have no personal knowledge of what that might be like.

That one time in college doesn't count. I was drunk, it was late, I was cold. Never mind.

Oh Thank God...I thought I was the only one who had one of those nights in college...Oh wait...Were you kidding? Me too then.

Aaahhh, silly kids. Good old trusty Timex Ironman here. 30 lap recall stop watch if you really need that many, a countdown timer for some good fartleking, etc., a alarm clock, 2 time zones (or daylight savings), and some sweet, sweet indiglo. $24.99 brand new on ebay. Wink

So, I bought a 205 on ebay last night. Now I just have to wait for its arrival. I'm pretty excited. My one question/concern is about using it with Ubuntu as far as syncing. Has anyone tried this? I have a windows machine I could use but would rather keep all my running stuff together on my linux box.

I already own an HRM and am thinking of getting a 205 and wearing one on each wrist. Has anyone here done this?

I just bought the 305 last week - used it for the first time yest. - it is awesome! It's interesting to see all the data. I'm looking forward to keeping an actual log for the first time in my 8 years of running. It's fun!
