Russian court finds Pussy Riot rockers guilty of hooliganism

Old news evidently, shows how much attention I pay to the news.

I hope foreign artists refuse to perform in Russia as long as Pussy Riot are incarcerated.  I hope they are not incarcerated any longer, of course.  A suspended sentence would be the best outcome at this point.

        So Pussy Riot causes hooliganism.

        Well, duh.

        Give in to their demands.

NOW I remember why I need to come back here more often.

                Spectacular, Stevie Ray.

I ran a mile and I liked it, liked it, liked it.

The funny thing here is, if you discount the lyrics (in Russian, I mean), it could be ANY punk song.  Sorta reminds me of some Plasmatics.  Sans the breast bearing Wendy O Williams.

                  I kinda like it.

Now, for the controversy...that they are being prosecuted, is really alien to us in the West (or, at least me).   Granted, I have no idea what they're saying, but, people in the US say some really bad things.  Yeah, they get in trouble if they *threaten* the POTUS and stuff, but, from what I gather, that's not what Pussy Riot did.

How different is Russia from the old USSR?

So in reading up on Pussy Riot, I came across the article on nbcnews about the current popular righteous indignation by western famous folks on PR's behalf.  (see: Kony)

My favorite bit was "Alicia Silverstone wrote Putin..."

                      Alicia Silverstone?

She's had a lot of time on her hands.  Plus, there is no way to ponder that WITHOUT thinking of Clueless.

That's funny. I get that too now, but not the first time I was there, from Google News. Looks like when you click through from there you're allowed in. Search for "gu verdict" on Google News.
