As one of the new RWOL transplants, I'd like to officially request permission to start a "Let me introduce myself!" thread, like the ones that were always met with warm welcomes and sincere enthusiasm on L&O and, later, NRR.
After making my initial post in the thread, I promise to answer questions such as "Do I like gladiator movies?" and "Do I wear thongs?"
(The answers are "yes" and "no," respectively, by the way.)
What do you say, my new Running Ahead friends?
Only two groups of people choose to go outside in this weather: smokers and runners. It's my job to make sure the runners are well represented.
We've already got one. It's stickied at the top of the General Running forum.

I believe it's preferred that the serious discussions take place in the forums, and the miscellaneous crap we spend our days responding to belong in the user groups. Personally, I like this setup. I do occasionally have a legitimate question or want to read other people's legitimate questions and if there's too many dailies and penguins and singles and so on, it can be easy to overlook.
