First 10K race done!! (Read 96 times)

I was in first when I got to the turn around on a somewhat out and back course. I thought it was strange because I am not fast. On the way back I realized I somehow missed a part of the course. It wasn't the best marked and the wind was blowing 25 with 35+ gusts And some of the signs fell over.  I finished strong and took 5 minutes off my 5 mile time (50 minutes and I think 22 seconds)  I told the race directors to please disqualify me because I went off course. it's been a couple years since I did some 5ks so it was really helpful practice wise as I get ready for my half.

Sounds like a challenging race, nice job and even nicer job on being honest to race director!
