Finally took time today to add up the miles manually -- since I started my RA log in August, had to combine a couple logs...didn't quit make it 2,000 miles in 2009, but came darn close with 1,964 miles if I count logged walks. (1,848 w/out logged walks)
Couldn't run any after 10/25/09, so I'm pretty darn pleased with my old middle-aged self.
mta: I started logging in May 2006, so no real idea about miles before that in the trendline...
What does Tunis make?
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
Nice few years of consistent running there.
BTW, how long did it take you to manually add up your miles?
About 10 minutes...mainly I was just being a wus about figuring out Garmin Connect reports to get a summary like I used to get from Motionbased. It was a motivation thing...
No offense.
Congrats, old man. Hope you are feeling better.
Speaking of Agent 86ing miles, I ended 2009 with 3637.4 miles. Ooo ahhh. But. Had I hit 3640, that would have been an average of 70mpw for the week. I missed it by 2.6 miles. Fooey.
(at 9p on 12/31, I pondered whether to go out in the rain and the cold to do a quick run. I decided against it because I wanted to run a 50k about 9 hours later... and at the time, I felt like going to sleep. Ah well. "Missed it by THAT much")
Ultima tastes like failure.
Menace to Sobriety
You could have always padded the log, but still very impressive.
Padding the log is what led to my astigmatism.
Edited to add: and that should say that 3640 would have been a 70 mpw for the year, not the week.
I drank too much anchor steam earlier.
I do find some poetry in the idea that the dude who runs so many 26.2 mile races missed a goal by 2.6 miles.

Aha - found a way to do it quickly. From your log, go to "Reports", click on "New Search", under Date Range choose "Last Year", then under Group Result By choose "Last Year". Under activity you may need to choose "run".
yeah but his stuff isnt all here.

Truer words have never been spoken.
Anyone anywhere near 2000 is obviously missing something.
We've Got Big Hills
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
I'm pretty darn pleased with my old middle-aged self.
...as you should be.
If we don’t try we’ll never know. At least I can find out how good I can be. I can have an answer at the end of the days, and have a hell of a good time with the process. -Desi Davila
