Forums >Running 101>Wee bit of help??
Hey fellow runners,
i am a boy, 13, quite tall and i love sport but want to get into running
i qualified for 100 metre sprint at school (never done 100m sprint properly before) in 13.8 seconds, not sure if thats good or not
i think i could go lower than that with a bit of training
im looking for a pair of decent running trainers or spikes as i ran that on grass with astro turf trainers
looking for some tips for training for the race on sports day
cheers guys
Starky
an amazing likeness
Ringo,
Most folks here are old foggies (compared to you) jogging longer distances, not sprinting 100 meters (metres). So not sure you'll get a lot of suggestions...
Surely you must have a coach at your school?
Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.

I can see why he'd be asking. Most MS's just pick the first willing teacher to coach track.
Starky, for spikes, just go to a local running store and find a pair that fit.
For training, I'd suggest tapping into the coach you'll have in HS and ask him/her for some tips. There might be some ex sprinters on this board, but it's not the typical area of discussion.
Good luck.
